NORDPRAKTIK provides an opportunity for young employees from private small and medium size companies in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, St. Petersburg and the Barents region to fulfil a training period in a Nordic country. The training period is combined with leisure-time activities and information about Nordic economy, society and culture.

Financing
Nordpraktik is a program initiated and financed by the Nordic Council of Ministers. The project is managed by the Nordic Associations. Nordpraktik trainees receive scholarships, which covers all accommodation expenses, travel fare to and from the Nordic country insurance, meals and some pocket money.

Aims of the project
This project is aimed at

  • facilitating the development of business relationships between commercial organizations in Russia, the Baltic and Nordic countries
  • facilitating the development of small and medium size business
  • giving an opportunity to young employees in Russia and the Baltic countries to broaden their outlook in economy and management
  • giving the opportunity to get work experience in a western company
  • spreading information on the society, culture and basic principles of democracy in the Nordic countries

Information meetings
Information meetings are arranged in St. Petersburg, Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius, in May / June. The programme consists of lectures and information about the Nordic countries and cooperation. Conditions for life, work and business in the Nordic countries are presented. Individual interviews will be held to test the level of English and to get more information relevant for the training.
